I went out today (Kick Cancer's Butt Day) and decided to suffer a little bit. I rode out along Chiswick Line (some of the hills are 11%) and in a fit of ridiculousness, I turned around and rode them all back into town.
From there I rode out Memorial Drive and back as well. This road is also hilly but not as steep as the former.
Sucker for punishment, I then rode the North Hill (Main St.) up to the golf course and back. Seemed like I was always going up or down all day.
The ride was only 10kms longer than yesterday, but it was WAY harder today.
My thoughts were that is we are collectively trying to Kick Cancers Butt, and the Garon Family is kid enough to match doantions today, then I could also do a hard day.
The way my legs feel right now I'm not sure that I could lift them high enough to kick anyone's butt, but I feel good having completed 25% of my mileage commitment.
Thank you all for your continued support. I'm certainly grateful for your help and also for my own health and ability to put stress on my body and come out the other side.
Headed out today with Shannon to log more KMS.
We went to Callander and offloaded our bikes near the park on Main St., then took off to ride KPW to the start in North Bay (and return of course).
Nice day for a nice ride for a great cause.
Tomorrow is “Kick Cancers Butt Day” where donations will be matched (up to $1.3 million). I’ll be playing music at the North Bay Farmers’ Market and ALL money from the day will be donated. It should be fun.
Thanks again for the continued support.
From Callander to Callander
We had a busy first week of August and I didn’t get out riding until today.
Out on my gravel bike and explored some roads that I have never ridden before, and one that I’ve never been on at all. Very cool to explore on the gravel bike, although the gravel roads are harder on my shoulders and backside than the paved roads. LOL.
It’s a good start. Thanks to all my sponsors for your support.
I just raised $250 to fight kids' cancer and achieved PROTECTOR LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
I just raised $100 to fight kids' cancer and achieved DEFENDER LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
