Turkey Day

I didn’t get a chance to ride yesterday one the last day of the month, so I went out early today. I just wanted to cap off the month and have some riding time to feel grateful. Grateful for my health, grateful for my sponsors and grateful that our efforts raised over $6 MILLION dollars to fight Kid’s cancer.

I tried a road that I’ve never been in before today and came across a flock of turkeys. By the time I got my camera out, there were about 2/3 of them remaining. Very cool to see.

That’s a Wrap

Went out today intent on finishing my mileage goal. There’s some rain in the forecast so I wanted to ‘Git ‘er done!’

Decided that I would do some extra climbing today and really give the last ride a solid effort.

I rode out to Nipissing Fire Hall (Station 2) and back.

On the way back my bike computer kicked up a Segment Challenge that goes from Armstrong Rd, in Christian Valley to St. Gregory’s School (Fairview Lane). My legs were pretty burnt from the climb to the firefall, but I decided to push and see how I would do.

I’m happy to report that I smashed my Personal Best (PB) by 1:28. It seems that all the miles this month have paid off. Thanks for the motivation.

I will be continuing to post on the GCC website as I ride more KMs, but this ride (PB included) put me over my mileage pledge for this year.

Local Road Ride

Back home and out for a quick ride to get the cobwebs out of my legs after four hours in the truck.

Rode the local roads and timed it just right, to ride through the "Movie Set" while they were on some type of break, so there were no traffic interruptions.

I had one "Unhappy Driver" who didn't like that he was stuck behind for 8 seconds or so. He was so mad about being held up that he waited for 10 more seconds at the stop sign to yell at me. LOL

Another truck pulled out in front of me as I was Northbound on Main St. causing me to lock up from about 38 km/h to keep from hitting him broadside.

I took the hint and came home. Maybe today was not my day to be out and about for too long. Home safe and sound so that's what counts.

Owen Sound Bound

Getting a visit in with Shannon’s Dad so we brought our bikes and went for a quick ride here in Owen Sound, just to get multiple locations in the GCC ride.

Nice ride through corn and countryside.

Get Up And Gravel

I got out for a Gravel ride tonight and worked up and down the hills without any danger.

In a parking lot, I just turning around and the gravel was soft; down I went.

No major injuries, (other than my pride) but I’m now calling the ride Blood, Sweat and Gears.

This ride puts me over the 75% complete status for my mileage pledge.

Looking forward to a strong finish.
