Saturday I drove up to the Airport with my kiddo to check out the path around the airport. I have heard of people going up there to run/skate/bike, but I had never looked into it. Pro tip, if you search for it and you get results for "Flight Path", that is actually the name of the path. If you haven't been there before, I highly recommend checking it out:

In previous years of the cycle challenge I was riding a cheap mountain bike that was about 20 years old. I didn't realize that the whole time I was riding that bike, it was actually too small for me. Part way through last season I upgraded to a new mountain bike with e-assist, and gave away the old bike. At the end of the season I bought a new traditional manual bike bike. The e-assist is great, but I also wanted something light that I could ride without the option of using any assist. Some people call the traditional bikes analog, some call them acoustic, and some people are offended at adding any modifier. If we're being pedantic, then "acoustic" makes the least sense...which is perhaps why I like it.

So yesterday I did 3 laps of the Flight Path on my acoustic bike. The kiddo joined me for the first lap and then went off to do some iNaturalist stuff. It was a great day for a ride and I enjoyed the change of scenery. It was a hot day, but there was a constanty cool breeze coming in off the water, and traffic on the path was pretty light.

My only complaint is that I need to make some comfort adjustments to the acoustic bike. After the first lap I was feeling like my riding position was off, and today my plans for a sunday ride were derailed by my back being stiff and sore. So I won't be hitting my target of 100km of this weekend, but some riding is better than no riding.

    Thanks everyone for the support!
