Another beautiful day. Alfie and I got in another 31 km. We’ve been so lucky for all of August to be able to get so many rides in! I need a little more help to get to my goal of $3500. Only 3 days left. Please give generously. It’s so much appreciated!

Blog wouldn't go through last night so day 26 I rode to Salem Church and back. 31 km.

Day 27 I had a dental appointment at my Main St Family Dental in Shelburne. The people are wonderful there. Dr Reiss is so awesome. They made my crown on the spot! So wonderful to have such great technology right here in Shelburne.Thank you guys! Rode late but still got a good ride to Hwy 89 by Grey Rd 8. It has a great bike path on both sides. Got in a good 34 km ride.

  • Day 21 and day 22 Great Cycle Challenge
    22 Aug 2026

Yesterday was a lovely day so rode to my friend, Sue's, cut some grass and came home.

It's been forecast to rain today so I got out early at 6:30 am with Alfie and we clocked 41 km . It was cool enough for a jacket. Fall 🍁 is in the air. No rain yet so forecasters are wrong again..lol. Thank goodness!

Just thought I'd throw in a picture of my beautiful great granddaughter who's cheering for all the Sick Kids!

    21 Aug 2026

Another beautiful evening 41km ride! Traffic is very light after 6 so it's safer. A lot of farmers are moving their equipment in the evening too. Alfie and I enjoyed the cool air.

Much thanks to Rosemary Humphreys at the cute shop on Proton St, Dundalk , Rose Colored Glasses , for your donation and congratulations for your upcoming wedding. I'm so happy for you!

  • Day 19 Great Cycle Challenge
    20 Aug 2026

I made a 31 km ride this evening to Badjeros and back and around Dundalk. It was a beautiful cool evening and traffic was very light. Farm equipment was moving from farm to farm. They don't have enough time in the day for all they need to get done before winter. The smell of the wildflowers was so good, which is something you don't smell when driving a car! I'm getting close to 800 km and very close to $3500.00 for the sick kids. I hope Alfie and I can make it but it's already been way more then I ever thought could be done. I'm so proud of all my donors!.

I've only got a little over $300 dollars to go to reach my $3500.00 goal. I hope I can make it for the kids. Happy birthday to my son, Joey Schmidt and to my friend, Heather Cox. Hope you both had a great day! I'll end with a picture of the beautiful sunset on my way home tonight!
