I started riding to help fight kids’ cancer in 2017. Three years before I, myself, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. It’s a long story, but the short version is that I should have lost my leg in a high amputation, or my life against an aggressive cancer. But, I am miraculously still here with a “living prosthetic” leg. I still struggle with chronic pain, debilitating neuropathy, and chemo side effects. Sometimes I feel like a caged animal trapped inside a body that won’t ever be the same. Running, hiking, skating, hunting & fishing; and especially cycling are things I loved but can no longer do. So even though it’s modified - I ride. The thought of a child enduring the horrors I experienced propels me to cycle through the pain. Thank you for taking time to read, share and maybe donate. One day soon, we can have a world where children don’t suffer and die from this vicious disease.
