Managed another two rides, yesterday and today to get some miles logged. Tough going against the strong wind but managed to keep going. If the wind would be calmer I can do longer rides out of town but lets not be too hasty, missing 1 year of riding takes time to get back on the saddle.
Took a big first step today and took the bike out for a quick ride. Everything felt wonderful, little discomfort and kept riding close to home to begin with. Still feeling well enough and rode to Wilks Dam, past the Brantford Golf & Country Club and Glenhurst Gardens, along the trail to the dam. Met a fellow rider and his wife on the same journey in support of this great cause! He had already logged 200km and his goal is 1,000km this month!
Small steps for me at this point but it felt so good to be on the bike and riding again. The next day will be an indication if the hurt comes back or if I can ride again.
Still dealing with an injury which makes riding pure agony. One of the most difficult things to do is not ride my bike this year. I will try a few short rides to log some km's and deal with the intense pain afterwards but not like previous years when I could do 400km in Aug. and another 400km in Sept. This is very difficult to sit by and not be very active in riding but still have the passion to collect for the kids fighting for their lives.
