So much for a daily blog update 😂🤣
Lots of great adventures over the last two weeks! Exploring the coastlines of Cumberland county NS, group ride with Explore Vélo, another group ride with my teammates from NB Power, exploring the beautiful river front capital of New Brunswick and finally a quick road ride around Saint-Louis-De-Kent, birthplace of the Acadian flag!
Meanwhile,I received my GCC jersey, reached my personal fundraising goal and my team blew past our fundraising goal - over 15 K and counting!
But why stop there? There are still 13 days left in the challenge! Let’s see how much money we can raise!
Happy riding!
Day 2 and 3 of the GCC took my wife and I on the same route to beautiful Pugwash Nova Scotia. In 1957 businessman, philanthropist and Pugwash native Cyrus Eaton proposed the creation of a conference against nuclear weapons proliferation. Over the years, the conference has been attended by various world leaders, including Albert Einstein, President Bill Clinton and General Romeo Dallaire. In 1995, the Pugwash conference was awarded the Nobel Peace prize. The conference continues to be very active as a proponent of nuclear disarmament.
Nova Scotia’s Cumberland county is also famous for it’s delicious wild blueberries. And don’t even think about comparing them to it’s high bush cousin - the low bush blueberries are way sweeter and more flavourful! They just happened to be in season and were available today at the Pugwash farmers market!
Happy riding!
Of to a great start! Had a 29 KM today with my wife, around the northern part of Nova Scotia. Very much enjoying the scenery of the coastline of the northumberland strait. What didn’t I Enjoy? The gale force wind!
One ride done - 30 to go!
