My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

It has been a while since I participated in a fund raising event, and when I was informed about the GCC, I immediately decided to participated, especially now that I'm starting to ride my mountain bike more often.

But more important in this challenge is the opportunity to raise funds for kids. Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

So I decided to challenge myself in raising $1,000 to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

In doing so, I will also challenge myself to ride my mountain bike at least 10 km each day of the month of August for a total of 310 km. No small feet for someone who has never been much of a bike rider.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids a brighter future. And if you help me reach the $2,500 mark, I will up the ante to 15 km per day. That may not seem like a lot, but for someone who has not been very active in the past few years, always struggling with some injuries, that's very daunting.
