My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

Sylvia

    14 Aug 2020

I am riding in memory of my daughter Marisa who passed away Dec 26, 2019 at age 22 from Brain cancer. The thing with Marisa was that she was so strong and uncomplaining. Having spent a fair bit of time at BC Childrens Hospital during her first 19 years I saw that strength in a lot of the kids who were struggling with sickness. The line from the GCCC that really got me is:

"Kids should be living life, not fighting for it"

And thats what I would like to see in my lifetime, kids not having to fight for their lives against cancer. And yesterday I saw that so many people feel the same way. $2,566,000. was raised in one day. Wow. Thank-you to everyone who supported the Garron Family initiative to make the match day such a huge success.

    Thank-you!
