My Story

  • Making it all worthwhile!
    1 Jul 2017

The pedalling is all done, the fundraising is a success, and today, being the last day of the challenge, I received great justification why I do this. We were visiting my parents in their senior's facility in Penticton, when they introduced me to Dave who eats at their table. He heard about my ride & wanted to thank me & all other riders & fundraisers out there for what we do. He was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus 17 years ago, but with treatments & surgeries, he is a cancer survivor today at 86 years old. His belief is that he wouldn't be here today to shake my hand if it wasn't for people like us who raise funds for cancer research! His story touched my heart, brought tears to my eyes & made me feel so special for the work that we do for cancer! So I wanted to share his story, to thank all those who donated to my ride, to thank all supporters across Canada who helped us raise over $2 million, to thank my riding team member, Pat Brand, and to thank all the other thousands of riders across Canada on our great country's 150th birthday! What we do really does make a difference & we should all be proud!

  • Help me fight kids' cancer!
    3 Apr 2017

Last year was the 1st year for this cycle challenge & we raised over $1.8 million across Canada to fund cancer research for sick kids! Let's beat that total this year & keep on fighting this terrible disease!

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

    Thank you.
