Marc Rouleau

We haven't thought of much aside from Covid-19 the last couple years but cancer hasn't gone away. I know this all too well. My best friend, Marc Rouleau, succumbed to cancer April 5, 2020. I don't have enough space here to tell you what a great person he was. Just an outstanding father, soldier, husband, professional. I'll continue to ride in Marc's memory this year. He was not a child and although I'm riding in support of the fight against childhood cancer, I think that's ok as what ever we can do to fight childhood cancer will help in the general fight against cancer. My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I've pledged to ride 1,800 km during the month of August. Believe me this will be a real challenge. As usual several big rides planned this year including 3-day Toronto to Montreal (655 km), we're going to make another go at St. Catharines and back (280 km) as welll as 2-days to Collingwood and back (330 km). My son Nathan is joining me again throughout the training/summer.

Cancer remains the #1 killer of children from disease in Canada. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

Of the 1,700 children who are diagnosed with cancer each year in Canada about 25% of these brave kids are treated at SickKids Garron Family Cancer Centre. So, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
