I'm Riding For
Alexandra

My daughter Alex was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer last December at the age of 25. My heart was broken that as her mom I could not “make it all better” by giving her a kiss and singing a song. I felt so helpless as I held her as she cried. She has undergone surgery to remove an incredibly large tumour, having to receive numerous blood transfusions in order to survive. Recently Alex has finished an intensive course of chemo therapy. Throughout it all she has remained strong and determined. She is my ‘Sunshine Girl’. As it is a very rare form of cancer there is not a lot of data or research available to her oncology team. It is our hope that she has kicked cancers ass and this nightmare will never return. Alex is a survivor, a warrior and my baby girl. This month I am riding for my daughter and for everyone else who has been inflicted by this horrible disease in hopes that one day we will find a cure. Our world changed forever, December 11th 2018.
My Story
This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
