I'm Riding For

Debbie and friends like her is why I ride

Debbie and friends like her is why I ride

My name is Debbie Nedelak. I will soon start my second battle with breast cancer. My Mother had breast cancer and her and I were both diagnosed when we were the same age, diagnosed the same month of the year and both our sons were the same age. But this is where the similarities end. You see I lost my beautiful Mother to this disease when she was 46 years old. I am now 61 years old and “I’ve got this” !! Thank You Denis Dion for being one of the sweetest men I know. I am touched that you are riding in support of ME !! Debbie

Krystl immediately ... jumped on board ... it was not until this year I found out why ... she was 8 years old fighting juvenile cancer ... she beat it and has been cancer free since 1984 ... Krystl wants to help other's children do the same ... I admire her feistiness ... Help Krystl and my fight to delete Cancer from Children's lives!

  • Too much?
    21 May 2017

Too much? … While mowing the lawn or gardening my neighbours ask me about my ride to fight cancer. Well I thought I would just put a little display up on our front deck .., if they're walking by they can take a card.

  • Another excellent reason why am doing this
    21 May 2017

Meet Mark, last year while talking to my neighbours about my ride (Mark) shared that he has been diagnosed and is fighting it. He has a beautiful young family and lives right across the street. This is why am doing it. Again I hope the funds raised helps delete this scourge from human history.

  • It's April 23 and I'm feeling determined!
    23 Apr 2017

The 2016 - 2017 Ski Season has come to a close so my Canadian Ski Patrolling season www.skipatrol.ca has also ... it has been a bitter sweet year our local Winter Extreme Ski & Board Swaps www.WintErextreme.com/Vancouver enjoyed one of our best fundraising seasons on our history the team and I are pumped and thankful!

My ski patrol season started with a torn rotator cuff on my first patrol day, I toughed it out but within a month in mid-January I tore my other rotator cuff. I again tried to tough it out but reached my pain threshold 2 months later when advised by my Doctor that despite aggressive treatment I was not getting better. ... I had to let nature take it's course by letting the injuries rest ... these injuries even made my beloved cycling to painful to continue ... now after a couple month of inactivity I feel I can commit to doing this! It's time to focus on my passion to kick cancer in the ass through fundraising on "Cranky" my recumbent bike. Through your support to date I have already earned my 2017 Great Cycle Challenge Jersey months ahead of last year. Help me kick Cancer in the Ass!

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

    Thank you.

    Denis
