My Story

  • The last ride for SCF Cycle Challenge.
    30 Jun 2017

Its been a spectacular month of riding and raising money for Sick Kids. I rode over half of my kilometers in beautiful Meaford and Ingersoll. The georgian trail was so beautiful. I was surrounded by forests of trees not seen where i come from. Many times I peddled through green tunnels of lush forest growth. Ingersoll is surrounded by farms and long country dirt roads. I loved riding out there, passing great fields of corn and Alfalfa and dark woods that beckoned me to their secrets deep within..

All in all it was an awesome ride and we surpassed the goal of 700 dollars. We still have a day or 2 to go. I might get a couple more sponsors. You never know. Thank you so much to those who sponsored me and made donations! We cant do it without you! Thank you to everyone for your support and I hope to see you sponsor me next year!! May you all, and especially our sick children, Blessed Be!

  • Headed home to Kamloops BC
    24 Jun 2017

My vacation is finally over with. I did this entire challenge or 82% of my ride goal right here in Ontario. I rode a 50 pound CCM Apex full suspension mountain bike that I bought off bikes for you in Meaford. Many kilometers were cycled around Meaford and the awesome Georgian Trail. The rest were around the countryside in Ingersol and tillsenburg area. Lots of dirt roads, and poorly paved side roads. The bike took me everywhere! I reset my goal from 300k to 350 and set my fundraiser from 600 to 700 dollars. Right now Im at 655 dollars and Ill get the rest once back home in Kamloops. Ill be riding my Surly pugsly fat bike for the remainder of the challenge. Its been a great vacation, I saw most of my kin and ate very well! So today I board a plane (i hate flying) and will be home this evening at 9pm Pacific time. Thank you so much for sponsoring me (if you did sponsor me) and look out BC friends because Im going to be looking for a few more donations!

  • Country gladness
    20 Jun 2017

I rode quite a few kilo's today out in the Ontario farming countryside. I stopped and listened to the wind blow across vast fields of corn. Wind spoke to me and cooled my sweaty body. There were plenty of hills, a river, forests here and there, country houses, big old barns and feed silos. Thousands of corn babies screeched as they rose out of the rich earth. I listened and heard their baby voices. Great dark clouds passed overhead under whiter clouds. It was 3d cloud watching. Drops of rain pelted off my helmet as i rode these long dirt roads! I rode only in middle 8th-16 gears. I passed many crossroads but saw nobody selling their souls. I felt the mighty force of Hecate, she who helps me make the right choices on this life path Im on. Tomorrow Ill ride again but further!

Thank you to my generous sponsors so far! Im 2/3rds of the way to my goal of 300k. I will be finishing out the rides in my hometown of Kamloops BC. Im not in great health, now have a sinus infection thats knocking me silly. I will try riding here in Ingersol but have been advised to take another break. That doesn't mean I dont need sponsors because I do. Theres dozens of children getting treated for cancer across Canada every day. So donate for them dear wee ones. I know we can reach 600 dollars this year. Dig out your change, cash in your empties, have a yard sale!!

  • Almost well enough to get riding again!
    5 Jun 2017

I have standing pnumonia and am feeling better after taking the meds prescribed for me. Im taking it kind of easy today thoughto be 100% for the next phase of my 300k goal... My mind is screaming for a bike ride and it wont shut up. I must assume control and be mature! Hmmmmmm.. i doubt that.. Im still looking for my first sponsor and donation. The only incentive I can offer is know your money goes to children with cancer and that Im trying very hard to ride my butt off as a way of saying thank you! Your sponsorship means the world to me and the wee ones. Ive trained hard and I WILL meet the goal i set. The great thing is that if i meet 300k early in this month i can and will increase the goal by 100k. Please friends, donate whatever you can ok? I appreciate your generosity and so will the suffering children in hospitals right here in Canada! May you all blessed be!!! Oh yes...a special hello to those fat fockers who encourage me to ride lots and to be healthy!! Hi Bug! Hi Sapphira!!

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

    Thank you.
