I would support SickKids anytime, what they can do is amazing. My cousin, now 26 years old has been stable for 3 years, he has SickKids to thank. Here is Jake Jenkins' SickKids experience:
When Jake was 9 his vision loss started, it wasn't until he was 10 that doctors knew what was going on. He visited 3 Specialists before they decided to do surgery to try and correct it. He was having surgeries at SickKids until he turned 16. So that's 6 YEARS!
Jake then started losing his hearing at age 18, it started slowly in his right ear then entirely, the left ear started a year later.
Jake has had approximately 16-18 surgeries, most of which being injections, 6 were invasive eye surgeries, 4 of those were at SickKids.
With no confirmed diagnosis, it was referred to as an auto immune disorder. Jake has 20/70 vision with glasses in his right eye, 20/300 in his left eye. He is completely deaf in the right ear and in his left ear he experiences trouble with high frequency.
