My Story

4 Feb 2020

This past year, working as a nurse at a partner institute to The Hospital for Sick Children, I have had the incredible opportunity to work with and build relationships with children that have gone through the care and journey at Sickkids and have benefitted, first hand, from the research a fundraiser like this can do for a child living with cancer. I have witnessed teens saddened by their initial prognosis but changed in our care; from daily rap battles to Rubik’s cube competitions to more laughter than I ever thought I had in me. I have seen them survive cancer. Beat it and rise from it. I can tell you it is has been a life changing experience; for both me to watch, and for them to live. I have become ever more passionate for the career I have chosen and the friendships I have now built from it.

Our team goal is $2000 and we will 600km in one month. With the last weekend in June, the 27thand 28th, being a full 200km in itself. We can do it with your help.

    Hi all,

We wanted to reach out and first off thank you for your generosity when my dad and I officially started on this bike riding journey for SickKids Hospital and the quest of curing childhood cancer through the Great Cycle Challenge. Unfortunately, due to everything going on in the world right now, the ride has been postponed to August 2020.

We will continue to provide you updates as we get closer to August. As a reminder, our father-daughter donation goal is $2000. In the meantime, we have raised $740 towards that goal and we'd like to thank those that have already donated!!

Children continue to be diagnosed with cancer and other diseases and illnesses in these times, thus making them immunocompromised and yet continue to have to seek medical help in hospitals with outbreaks. Our hearts are with these children and families during this time and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to ride in honour of them to help.

Both my dad and I hope you’re all staying healthy and safe in these crazy times.

    Talk soon.
