Meet Jayden

Jayden is a smart, energetic 11-year-old who excels in math, swimming and can speak both Cantonese and Mandarin. Jayden is also passionate about Taekwondo and before COVID-19 hit, he was on the verge of achieving his black belt.  He is also a massive fan of the Toronto Raptors.

But in March of 2021, Jayden’s world was flipped upside down…

In the beginning of March 2021, while Jayden was taking a shower, he noticed a large lump under his armpit and immediately yelled out to his mom. When his mom Jane saw this, she was instantly concerned and the next day she drove him to see his doctor.

The doctor indicated that the lump could be an infection and ordered an x-ray, bloodwork and an ultrasound.

After waiting over a week for the results, Jane decided to take matters into her own hands and drove to the Emergency Department where he was assessed. A series of diagnostic tests were ordered and the decision was made to admit Jayden to hospital.

After all these tests were completed, Jayden was finally able to go home and await results.

A few days later, Jane received a call from Jayden’s doctor who confirmed that he had cancer…

After Jayden attended a clinical appointment at the hospital, they learned that Jayden had Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, a form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which arises in cells of the lymphatic system.

The medical team then shared the treatment plan to Jayden and his family.

Jayden started chemotherapy immediately.

Jayden’s current treatment plan involves receiving 7 cycles of chemotherapy.

Kids like Jayden should be living life, NOT fighting it. So, let's ride for him this August and KICK CANCER'S BUTT!
