GCC Canada moves to August 2020
Over the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the developments related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation from Health Canada and staff at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Our goal is for riders, donors and staff to stay safe and healthy in this difficult time.
The situation is fast-evolving, and this past week (to March 23, 2020) has seen the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country as well as the heightening of measures to try to control it.
As a result and out of an abundance of caution, we’ve made the decision to postpone the 2020 Great Cycle Challenge to August.
It’s not a decision made lightly, but these are challenging times and we need to take proactive and preventative measures.
But right now is the time to focus on our health and wellbeing, as individuals, communities and as a country.
And it’s important that we all take all the necessary precautions to protect ourselves and those around us.
Some points to note:
- Your registration and fundraising efforts will be carried on to the August challenge.
- The Great Cycle Challenge Canada site will remain open, so you can continue to log your training rides, update your page and thank your donors.
And just one last thing...
Please join our private GCC Friends Facebook group for event updates, community announcements and important information for this year's challenge.
We look forward to riding together in August as we continue to fight kids' cancer and save little lives.
Thank you so much for your support of our kids and their families.
Stay safe and take care.
The GCC Team
